We have no time to stand and stare?—
No time to stand beneath the boughs,
And stare as long as sheep and cows:
No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass:
No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night:
No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance:
No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began?
A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
Today I took my camera outside in search of the color green. I stopped and stared at my bushes, ivy and pachysandra and looked longingly for any sign of spring. Im trying to be more present and more aware. To look, listen and feel. I also started working in a new journal/sketchbook. I am not allowing myself to use any paint or any collage items in this book. It is strictly for drawing and writing.
I need to practice drawing everyday. But now I need to get ready to watch Idol.
