Can courage quell despair?

                                                                  LIFE, believe, is not a dream
So dark as sages say;
Oft a little morning rain
Foretells a pleasant day.
Sometimes there are clouds of gloom,
But these are transient all;
If the shower will make the roses bloom,
O why lament its fall ?

Rapidly, merrily,
Life’s sunny hours flit by,
Gratefully, cheerily,
Enjoy them as they fly !

What though Death at times steps in
And calls our Best away ?
What though sorrow seems to win,
cO’er hope, a heavy sway ?
Yet hope again elastic springs,
Unconquered, though she fell;
Still buoyant are her golden wings,
Still strong to bear us well.
Manfully, fearlessly,
The day of trial bear,
For gloriously, victoriously,
Can courage quell despair !

May question for all is can courage quell despair? As long we are brave and hold are heads up high will we see the joys of life? Yes I would love your thoughts and comments.

    I thought of you often today as you embarked on a deeper journey through your Ayurveda Workshop. I applaud you for ever seeking meaningful ways to make sense of this world and for continually seeking out the answers to some of lifes most difficult questions.
    Each new step makes you stronger and wiser Susan, and Yes… sometimes it is ONLY courage that can conquer despair. Yes, yes, yes… be encouraged and be courageous, and know that you never journey alone.
    When you feel weak all you need do is hold out your hand, and someone will be there to grasp it. If you feel as if you are falling, reach out, and there will always be someone to help you to your feet.
    You are more courageous than you know.
    love and blessings to you.

    or is it more courageous to allow ourselves to feel despair and see the beauty in that? rather than holding our heads high, maybe sometimes we have to acknowledge that we feel or are in despair and acknowledge that sometimes it is okay to be in that place … i don’t know … i will be thinking about this for a while i think … xo
